The Wilson Police Department, PAL Dodge ball Camp is held in November.  The agency partners with the Boy’s and Girl’s Club for the event.  It is hosted at 316 Tarboro Street, the gymnasium.  During the camp officers teach the children the rules and fun of dodge ball!  The kids come to the gymnasium at 9:00 am and are placed based on their age.  The younger children meet at one end of the gym, and the other children on the other.

Kids first learn the fundamentals of throwing the dodge ball and have target practice after warming up.  Kids get to show off their accuracy and hit targets with the balls.  Some of the targets even come with prizes!  After target practice the police officers create teams from the children.  Police officers referee scrimmage games and the fun really takes off.

At noon the kids break for lunch in the Boy’s and Girl’s club.  A hotdog lunch is provided for all!  After lunch it’s back to playing dodge ball!  The teams play in a tournament and the winning team for their age group is crowned champions.  The camp wraps up around 2:00 pm.
