The Wilson Police Department PAL Field Hockey camp partners with East Carolina University’s Club Field Hockey Team to teach kids the basics of the sport. ECU Field Hockey Player’s introduce the sport by teaching youth the rules of the game, proper ways to dribble the ball, and the three basic types of shots (Push, Slap Shot, and Drive). The team demonstrates drills they use at their practices and then run the participants through those same drills. At the end of the camp the kids participate in a scrimmage with the ECU players.
